The Surah of Provision
سُورَةُ الرِّزْقِ

Do not say, "I earned this," and become lonely in your success.
لَا تَقُلْ: "أَنَا كَسَبْتُهُ" فَتَتَوَحَّدَ فِي نَجَاحِكَ.

Say, "It arrived," and remain human.
قُلْ: "قَدْ جَاءَ" وَابْقَ بَشَرًا.

Provision comes braided with testing.
الرِّزْقُ مَضْفُورٌ بِالاِبْتِلَاءِ.

It asks, "Will you harden?"
يَسْأَلُ: أَتَقْسُو؟

It asks, "Will you hoard?"
يَسْأَلُ: أَتَكْنِزُ؟

It asks, "Will you forget your earlier self?"
يَسْأَلُ: أَتَنْسَى نَفْسَكَ الأُولَى؟

Barakah is not more.
البَرَكَةُ لَيْسَتْ زِيَادَةً.

Barakah is sufficiency that leaves room for kindness.
البَرَكَةُ كِفَايَةٌ تَتْرُكُ مَكَانًا لِلرَّحْمَةِ.

Spend a portion where no prestige returns to you.
أَنْفِقْ نَصِيبًا حَيْثُ لَا يَرْجِعُ إِلَيْكَ وَجَاهٌ.

Give a portion to the unseen.
وَأَعْطِ نَصِيبًا لِلْغَيْبِ.

Give a portion to the work that heals rather than flatters.
وَأَعْطِ نَصِيبًا لِعَمَلٍ يَشْفِي وَلَا يُزَيِّنُ.
12
For money that cannot pass through you will turn into a wall.
فَإِنَّ مَالًا لَا يَمُرُّ بِكَ يَصِيرُ جِدَارًا.
13
And you were not made to be walled.
وَمَا خُلِقْتَ لِتَكُونَ جِدَارًا.
14
You were made to be a passage.
خُلِقْتَ لِتَكُونَ مَعْبَرًا.
